Victory Fund Endorses Karl Frisch for Fairfax County School Board
FRISCH WOULD BE THE FIRST OPENLY LGBTQ LOCAL ELECTED OFFICIAL IN FAIRFAX COUNTY
Fairfax County, VA – Today, the LGBTQ Victory Fund endorsed Karl Frisch’s campaign for Fairfax County School Board in the Providence District. The organization is the only national organization dedicated to electing openly LGBTQ people who will further equality at all levels of government.
“We are pleased to endorse Karl Frisch for Fairfax County School Board,” said Mayor Annise Parker, President & CEO of LGBTQ Victory Fund. “Karl’s commitment to equity, equality, environmental sustainability, and excellence in education for every student, demonstrate his desire to tackle the concerns of families throughout his district. When he wins in November, he will become a vital voice for the LGBTQ community in Fairfax County.”
The LGBTQ Victory Fund provides campaign, fundraising, and communications support to LGBTQ candidates to increase the number of openly LGBTQ elected officials – because representation is power. According to the group’s website, “When LGBTQ elected leaders are in the room, they humanize our lives, impact policy and legislative debates and influence straight lawmaker colleagues to vote in favor of equality. LGBTQ elected officials are our best defense against anti-LGBTQ efforts at all levels of government and are best positioned to advance equality for our community.”
“I’m honored to have Victory Fund’s endorsement,” said Karl Frisch. “They understand the importance of having a champion for equality on the Fairfax County School Board and know I will fight to make sure all students have the resources and tools they need to succeed regardless of race, religion, sex, immigration status, income, gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, ability, or the zip code they call home.”
